Kyrgyzstan – Crossroads of faith in Karakol

Karakol is located where Kyrgyzstan meets Kazakhstan and China.

Kyrgyz, Russian, Dungans, Uighurs, Tatars, Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Kalmuks and Ukrainians live in this city, with all the diversity of faiths or visions of the same faiths that comes with it.

Two places of spirituality are exceptional in this city in terms of architecture : the Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity and the Dungan Mosque.

☦️ The Holy Trinity church just doesn’t happen to be a unique architectural marvel with its wooden construction, it is a located on the edge of a world.
